Hallow and Eve are a perfectly matched pair of velvet shadows who arrived together and have decided the world is a lot less scary when they face it side-by-side. Split them up? Not an option. These two are the definition of bonded.

Hallow is the shy guardian of the pair. During the day he melts into the background—under the bed, behind the scratcher, anywhere dark and quiet. But every evening you’ll hear the tiniest, most polite “mrrp?” from inside the kennel. That’s Hallow reminding you it’s time to open the door so he can have his nightly zoomie session with Eve and their buddy Charo. Once he’s out with other cats, he’s a different boy: wrestling, chasing, and flopping affectionately on his friends. With people? Still a firm “look but don’t touch” policy. Hands are suspicious. Eye contact is briefly tolerated if you blink first.

Eve is the slightly braver half (which isn’t saying much). Inside the safety of their kennel she’s a total love-bug: she’ll weave figure-eights around your hand, purr like a freight train, and gently nibble your fingers to say “more please.” Step outside the kennel and she remembers humans can be giants, so she freezes or retreats. We’re working on it—one calm visitor at a time—and she’s starting to realize the world beyond the door might not eat her. Toys help: a well-timed wand toy can coax her out into the open before she remembers she’s supposed to be timid.

Neither Hallow nor Eve is ready to be picked up (they both perform the classic “instant 47-pound dead-weight” maneuver), but give them a quiet, predictable home with plenty of hiding spots that slowly turn into lounging spots, and watch the magic happen. They just need a patient person who speaks fluent “slow blink” and understands that love sometimes whispers instead of shouts.

Ideal home: calm, adult-only or with respectful older kids, at least one confident or playful resident cat to continue their nightly kitty rave, and an adopter who thinks earning trust over weeks (or months) is the very best kind of reward.

If your house has empty sunbeams, cozy cubbies, and a heart big enough for two cats to bloom in, come meet Hallow & Eve. They’ll probably hide on the first visit. By the third, Eve might let you touch one paw. By the tenth, they’ll own your lap—and your heart—forever.

Hallow & Eve: because the best things in life are worth waiting for.
