Meet Moira – Your Future Toy-Obsessed, Food-Loving Brown Tabby Girlfriend!

Moira is a classic brown tabby with perfect eyeliner and the most expressive “I’m up to something” face you’ve ever seen. She is 50% playful gremlin, 50% food-motivated cuddlebug, and 100% entertaining.

When the kennel door is still closed, Moira is the queen of affection: she’ll stretch up the bars, chirp like a bird, rub her face on your hand, and basically audition for the role of your soulmate. Open the door and she suddenly remembers she has stage fright — she’ll still love pets, but only on her exact terms (food helps a LOT). Think of her as a vending machine that dispenses purrs for Churu.

**Moira’s love languages, ranked:**
1. Food → unlimited pets, head bumps, and full-body leans
2. Fresh, never-before-seen toys (she gets bored fast, so rotate them or she’ll dramatically declare toys “dead to her”)
3. Wand toys and laser-focused hunting sessions
4. Occasional non-food pets (short but very sweet)
5. Being picked up → hard pass, she turns into a furry statue

**Social skills:**
- Other cats: Total pro. She used to roam the cat room at night with her buddy Flores like they owned the place. She’d do great with another playful, confident cat or as a solo queen.
- Dogs/kids: Unknown, but her “only when I feel like it” petting rules would probably work best in a calm, adult or older-kid home.

Moira is looking for someone who speaks fluent "Treat" and understands that some of the best cats have a three-foot “personal space bubble” outside their kennel (until they decide you’re trustworthy, then the bubble shrinks to zero).

Give her a week or two of routine, a puzzle feeder, and a good toy rotation, and she’ll reward you with chirpy conversations, impressive pounces, and the occasional “you’ve earned it” head boop. If you want a gorgeous, hilarious, slightly spicy young tabby who keeps life interesting, Moira is waiting to interview you — treats recommended for best results.

Visitors to the shelter are by appointment only and after a form has been submitted online:
