Meet King – The Hidden Royal Who’s Ready to Claim His Throne (and Your Lap)

Tucked away in the back room sits a big, velvet-soft adult boy who has clearly been somebody’s beloved pet before life took a wrong turn. King is all gentle eyes, deep rumbling purrs, and the unmistakable air of a cat who knows he was born to be spoiled.

From the moment you open his kennel door, King is on his feet, weaving figure-eights around your legs, head-butting your hand, and politely requesting (okay, demanding) pets. He leans into scratches like he’s been starving for them, closes his eyes in pure bliss, and answers every chin rub with a low, rolling purr that you can feel in your soul.

**Royal comfort levels:**
- Petting: 1000% yes — ears, cheeks, chest, full-body strokes… he accepts tribute in all forms
- Picking up: A little awkward (he goes stiff and gives you a “Your Majesty is not amused” look), but he allows it without protest and quickly relaxes once he realizes no one is deposing him
- Play: Moderate interest in wand toys; he’s more into the post-play cuddle tax
- Other cats: Unknown yet — he hasn’t been tested, but he’s so laid-back and sweet he’ll probably be fine with slow intros (or perfectly happy ruling as the only monarch in the house)

King is the cat you’ve been dreaming of if you want love without drama: no zoomies at 3 a.m., no shredded furniture, just a big, cuddly gentleman who wants to spend his days napping in sunbeams and his nights pressed against your side, purring like a V8 engine.

If your castle has a warm lap, a soft blanket, and a human ready to restore a deposed king to his rightful place of honor, King is waiting to crown you his favorite subject forever. Come pay your respects — one head bump from this sweet boy and you’ll gladly hand over the entire kingdom.

King has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), a condition that only affects cats and is not transmissible to dogs or humans. To prevent possible transmission, he should be the only cat or in a home with other FeLV-positive kitties. Don’t let his diagnosis fool you—King is full of life and ready for a long, happy journey with you! He needs annual vet checkups to keep him in tip-top shape, just like any other adopted pet.
